Austin Voices began working with community leaders in 2015 to bring community schools practices to Dallas ISD. Ed Turner, longtime education organizer and current Austin Voices staff member, has led the work in Dallas since that time, with parent engagement and mentoring programs at nine campuses (thought contracts with DISD).
