On October 1st, Austin Voices for Education and Youth (AVEY) and The Austin Project (TAP) joined together as one organization. After 10 years of collaboration around starting Family Resource Centers and community schools, the two nonprofits will operate as Austin Voices for Education and Youth, housed at the TAP offices at 5221 Ledesma Rd., Austin, TX, 78721. TAP brings a legacy of over 25 years supporting youth and families with innovative approaches. Donna Hagey, TAP Executive Director, will retire as of 2018, and Allen Weeks, Executive Director of Austin Voices, will continue as the ED of the combined organization. AVEY will now support 8 Family Resource Centers and 10 community schools in AISD, along with projects in Dallas, El Paso and Houston.
