Stand Up for Schools 2016 Crowd PhotoAVEY held its annual “Stand Up for Schools” celebration at the Dell Children’s Medical Center on Feb. 8, 2016. The event, which also raised over $20,000 for the work of Austin Voices, honored students, parents and community partners who have modeled support for public education in 2015-16. The keynote speaker was Jane Quinn, Director of the National Center for Community Schools in NYC, and the Vice-President of the Children’s Aid Society. Attendees included Supt. Paul Cruz, city and county officials, as well as Texas State Representatives Donna Howard, Celia Israel and Eddie Rodriguez.
