Hundreds Gather to Call for Support for the Students of Reagan High School

On Saturday November 22, 2008 the student-led Stand Up chapter of Reagan High School and other students gave empowering speeches and opinions to state legislators, teachers, and other community leaders on the closure of John. H. Reagan High School.  Students marched from the State Capitol to the TEA building in the heart of downtown Austin where there was an organized rally to show the students' passion and obligation towards keeping Reagan open.  There were amazing performances from the Reagan Band, also poetry and speeches from past and current students such as State Represenatives Dawnna Dukes and Donna Howard.  It was a moving event where students and the community showed that old Reagan Pride towards the closure of a very historic place where generations of Eastside students received an education to better their future.
